I have 26 years in law enforcement, of which the last 16 have been in investigations. During my 10 years in uniformed patrol I was assigned to work in specialized areas such as; DUI Enforcement, Drug recognition, Special Weapons Assault Team Leader, Initial responder to Nuclear Weapons and Chemical Weapons Incidents, and Terrorist incidents. During my tenure in investigations I have been assigned as a Team Leader for General Crimes, Fraud Crimes Unit, Internal-Affairs, and Hostage Negotiations, but to name a few...

As Team Leader of the Fraud Crimes Unit, I directed, monitored, and conducted investigations of violations of the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) [Workman's Compensation], travel fraud, bad checks, and other fraud related crimes. I further formulated and implemented law enforcement and administrative policies and procedures. As the Team Leader for the Internal-Affairs Division I conducted investigations into allegations of misconduct, malfeasance, excessive force, and criminal violations relating to departmental personnel. As Team Leader for the general Crimes Division I monitored and participated in investigations relating to property crimes and crimes against persons.

I have participated in joint task forces relating to Gangs, Narcotics, and Prostitution, related investigations, and am responsible for coordinating investigative activities with other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

I have authored a law enforcement records management system that was adopted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) for use throughout the NAVSEA system.

I am responsible for conducting complex investigations for violations of federal and state laws, violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and Department of Defense/Department of the Army Regulations.

I prepare and serve Search Warrants and Subpoenas relating to ongoing investigations, along with arrest warrants.

Over the past two years I have conducted and participated in over 185 computer related investigations, and have provided assistance and technical advice to state and federal agencies relating to computer crime investigations.

I have published articles addressing Spam emails, identity theft, and prepared press releases relating to arrests and convictions of cases investigated.

I attended a 750 hour basic police academy in 1985 and have since amassed in excess of1,300 hours of advanced officer training in the areas of Domestic Violence Intervention, Child Abuse, Sexual Assault Investigations, Homicide, Child Abduction Investigations, Environmental Crimes Investigations, Internal-Affairs and Officer Involved Fatal Incidents, Drug Influence Recognition and Drug Warrant and High Risk Warrant Service, Narcotics/Drug Identification, Unusual Incidents and Tactics Management, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Hostage negotiations, Traffic Accident Investigations, and Physical Security, Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Training Officer, Response to Weapons of Mass Destruction.
